Panjwai / Afghanistan: Taliban takeover may have dropped Afghanistan to uncertainty and economic pain, but Khan Mohammad’s arms dealer uses it.
Flanked between pharmacies and general stores, the shop in the South Kandahar Province Panjwai district – Spiritual Birthplace of Taliban – flush with fresh supplies.
Vest battle camouflage and bandolier depends on the wall when Mohammed exhibits its merchandise, including the US-made Smith & Wesson pistol and ammunition ammunition.
More pistols, grenades, walkie-talkies and tallers full of bullets lined up the glass screen in front.
The end of the conflict has led many weapons owners to conclude they no longer need it, Mohammad explained.
“People who have weapons at home for years took us their weapons,” he said.

Other dealers on the dusty Panjwai market, whose store is decorated with a large Taliban flag and photographs of the top group leader, has a stronger offer.

“We bought all these things from the Taliban after they conquered the Afghan army base,” said Vendor Murtaza, who only gave one name.
“Now we take them to the market to sell.”
