Chandigarh: More than 60% of the elderly in the city have received booster shots.
There are 1,5600 elderly people with co-morbidity in cities that are eligible for JABAH-caution.
“This special part of this community understands the relevance of vaccination because the number of cases began to increase,” said an official at the UT Health Department.
The elderly has started their vaccination from March 1 last year.
The city has reached a 100% target of complete immunization in the adult population.
For a booster dose, there is a low coverage of 11.3% and 16.4% for health care workers and front lines.
The first vaccination drive began in the city starting January 16, 2021.
