Vadodara: The police on Wednesday grabbed a stock of liquor from the ship on the Narmada River in Kevadia.
Stock liquor is smuggled into a good state through Madhya Pradesh or Maharashtra.
The police said that they had received the following information they maintained over the river in the district of Narmada.
“Our team saw a boat on the river a few kilometers from Sardar Sarovar Dam.
The defendant saw the police and boat to the banks of the river and disappeared in the forest.
We have won Liquor worth more than the RS two lakh,” said D B Shukla, Circle Police Inspector, Kevadia.
He added that the search for the defendant was underway.
The police said that some Bootleggers tried to smuggle liquor through the river while flowing into the state of Madhya Pradesh.
