PARIS: Veteran Indian tennis player Rohan Bopanna and his Eponymous Spouse Franko Skugor Progressed into the pre-quarterfinals of Their French Open with a straight set win over Americans Frances Tiafo and Nicholas Monroe on Thursday.
The unseeded Bopanna and Skugor prevailed over their opponents 6-4, 7-5 in the second round game that lasted 1 hour 20 minutes.
Even the 41-year-old Bopanna, rated 40 on earth, isn’t defending any issues this season in the Roland Garros.
He wants to make points as this is his final opportunity to boost his position.
The positions June 10 will be considered for entrance to the Tokyo Olympics.
Divij Sharan, however, lost his opportunity by dropping his first round game.
The joint positions of Bopanna and Sharan is going to be taken into consideration for entrances.
