Chatra: Huntergunj police on Sunday restored 6,492 bottles of liquor worth Rs 21 Lakh from the grocery store in Kandwar Village.
Consignment should be smuggled into Bihar which is a dry condition.
This is the biggest recovery here by the police in recent months.
The source said Chatra SP Rakesh Ranjan got a tip about this consignment.
He formed a team led by police officers Sub-Division Avinash Kumar who carried out the attack.
The team found 6,492 bottle of liquor in 153 cartons covering 1,836 bottles (750ml) from rare whiskey reserves and 4,656 bottles of black birds (180ml) in 97 cartons.
Kumar said, “We also held a smuggler named Rambalak Saw.
But this gang leader was identified when the door saw managed to escape.
Previously also similar cases asked against the door.
This is one of the biggest recovery in this district at several times.” TNN.
