Chennai: Fishermen from Hamlet Oorur Kuppam saw five metal idols that washed the land near Nagar on Sunday night and handed it to government officials on Monday.
Jayapaul, a fisherman from the neighborhood, saw the idol and told the villagers.
They restored idols and sent them to the Temple of Palandi Amman in Odaikuuppam near Besant Nagar.
Meanwhile, the police team from Thiruvannimiyur also arrived at that place after being told about the catch.
