‘Chehre’, starring in Amitabh Bachchan and Hashmi Emraan in the main role began with a slow start at the box office.
The film which is only the second big Bollywood film to be released in theaters in August, opened for a bad response for the past two days.
According to a report on BoxOfficeindia.com, the film was opened in theaters with an estimate of the 45 lakh RS collection and then added Rs 60 Lakh to Kitty on Saturday.
With this, the total film now stands in the estimated RS 1.05 Crore.
The report stated that the film produced many businesses in Delhi NCR and East Punjab.
‘Chehre’ which is a mysterious drama, sharing a business at the box office with Akshay Kumar Action Flick ‘Bell Bottom’ which is currently in the second week of release.
The film also got less than the film Punjabi ‘Chal Mera Putt 2’ which swept an impressive 1.15 crore at the box office on the second Saturday.
The ‘chehre’ maker decided to opt out of the OTT release and opt for a traditional theater release.
However, some films have been shown to perform poorly at the box office, because of the restrictions of Covid-19 and the cinema room runs at 50% occupancy.
Going with a film response released so far, it has been reported that producers may not release their films in the near future, even during Diwali.
Many tend to choose the release of December in the hope that things are normalized at that time.
Filmmakers such as ‘Soororiavanshi’, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, ’83 and ‘Maidaan’ have refrained from committing on any date.
‘KGF’ and ‘RRR’, on the other hand, have chosen the release of April 2022.
‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ and South Biggie Aamir Khan, ‘Pushpa’, is expected to collide at Christmas this year.
