Manila: The Filipino boxing icon and Senator Manny Pacquiao said he would run for the President in the 2022 election.
Pacquiao received his PDP-Laban party nomination at the National Convention on Sunday, promised to honestly serve the Philippines which he said had Waiting for change of government.
“I am a warrior, and I will always be a warrior inside and outside the ring,” said Pacquiao (42).
“On behalf of our nobles who have long wanted the right change in the government, I with all my heart, and whether and humbly for your support,” he added.
Pacquiao is the president of the PDP-Laban faction led by him and Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III.
Another fraction of the party earlier this month was nominated by President Rodrigo Duterte as his vice-presidential candidate, and former Assistant Duterte, Senator Bong went as his presidential candidate.
Duterte, which is prohibited by the constitution from finding the term six years the second year, has received a nomination, but go has refused to run the president.
Duterte has led a brutal campaign against illegal drugs and said last week he preferred to “first die” before facing an international court, a day after the International Criminal Court announced that he would investigate the allegations of crime against harsh acts who had left thousands of death.
