Thiruvananthapuram: A 10-year-old boy died on Sunday after he sneaked and fell into the flow of overflowing near his house while walking with his father.
The tragedy occurred near KudappanKunnu Devi’s temple under the limit of the Mannanthala police station.
Dev, son of Srelal, who is an engineer in Doordarshan Kendra here and Divya S Kumar Rajasaras’s house in Kudappannu, is the deceased.
According to the police, the accident occurred at around 4:30 p.m.
on Sunday when Srellal took to go to the nearby shop.
Dev reportedly slipped and fell into the stream.
Because of the rain continuously, strong currents on the river.
Dev was swept away a few feet before the people around him pulled him out of the river.
Even though he was taken to the hospital, he died around 6pm.
The police said the flow was not deep enough for a child to sink.
But, the water might enter the lungs because of flowing profusely.
Dev is a child with learning disabilities and is a major student lower than middle school government, Pattom.
He survived his parents, twin brothers Devesh and diya sister.
