Gurugram: The CBSE test council is in the corner, but the 18-year-old Pavak Khurana is just as busy with him a few years ago.
Interrupted research, he must manage funds for drugs, sanitisers, masks, food packages, books, clothing, etc.
He needs to distribute this among those who need it most.
During the first Covid wave in 2020, when the school closed down, Pavak found free time.
So, he used to accompany his mother, a doctor, to a private hospital in the city.
This occasional visit explained it to the struggle of covid patients and their relatives.
From the lack of medicines for the availability of food, Pavak identified a number of gaps where he could enter.
Willingness to help have led the Teater to launch 4 Cowglovding NGOs.
DPS 12th grade students, Sector 45, Pavak assisted by 25 others in this initiative – most of them students from Gurugram, Delhi and Chandigarh.
Even though he had attended the physical class, Pavak managed the time for the community too.
“You don’t need to struggle a lot to find time for your desire.
Performing well in my board exam is my short-term target, but taking my community service in front is my desire.
In the last two years since I started the initiative, I have learned to balance Work and manage time for both roles, “he said.
NGOs are now in the third year.
With a small amount of money donated by family and relatives, Pavak has begun distributing food boxes, medicines, masks, and sanitisers.
“Initially, only the desire to do something for Covid patients and their relatives.
The key gave me enough time to get out and help people.
My parents also didn’t stop me but help me,” he said.
He also opened the Facebook page to spread awareness about NGOs while his father reached more people.
“I have worked for a leading company and has a large network, including on LinkedIn.
I started sharing the Facebook page link, and people began to show interest in offering assistance,” said Amit Khurana, Pavak’s father.
Pavak also mobilized Samaria in his area on DLF 5 by placing an empty box in front of their door and encouraging people to donate masks, food packages, sanitisers, books, clothing, medicines, among others.
Friends and other boys and girls immediately joined him.
During the second wave, Pavak swung in action to help people overcome the oxygen crisis in the city.
With the help of students and other neighbors, it forms an oxygen library to connect those who need oxygen cylinders with those who have this available.
That condition is to restore the cylinder after use.
“People panted for oxygen, and it was heartbreaking to see it.
We also can’t ignore the worries of people who also save the cylinders.
So, we offer them an agreement, where we promise that they will get back cylinders whenever they are Need it, “he said.
During this time, Pavak also realized the exception of massives from many children, especially those from economic backgrounds economically, from online education.
So, he began collaborating with other NGOs working on education to distribute books and stationery to these children.
Pavak has made preparations for relief services during the third wave led by Omicron too.
But, the third wave has not bothered and destroyed.
He, however, said that his NGO was on standby, ready to act.
On weekends, Pavak still visited the hospital and distributed masks and sanitisers.
