Lucknow: After witnessing the medical oxygen crisis during the second covid-19 wave peak destroying the city in April and May earlier this year, Lucknow is now independent in terms of gas supply saving life, officials said.
At least 19 oxygen generation factories have been established in government hospitals and urban public health care centers (UCHC).
The capacity of all these plants together is 15,338 liters per minute enough to supply oxygen to every bed in this hospital and CHC, he added.
Of these, the oxygen supply facilities for bedside pipes are available in six hospitals.
In the 13 remaining hospitals / UCHCs, oxygen cylinders can be refilled from the factory and brought to the bedside.
The work is underway to put a pipe in this health care facility too.
Furthermore, the plan was also being carried out to establish another nine units at another UCHCS, the officer said.
Spokesman for the Head of the Head of Medical Officer, Yogesh Raghuwanshi, said “The steps taken by the state government helped in managing the oxygen crisis during the second wave and now after establishing new plants, all 10 government hospitals and 18 CHCS Mandiri in the production of medical oxygen.

Apart from the government’s health care facilities, the medical university of Raja George (KGMU) and RAM Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Science (RMLIMs) have plants with capacity to produce 1.1 lakh oxygen per minute and each 43,000 liters per minute.
In addition, SGPGIMS has a capacity of 41,000 liters per minute and 1000 liters per week planting on the card.
All three main institutes have a supply of bedside channeled.
Overall, government hospitals, CHC and the government-assisted medical education institution now have the capacity to produce 2.1 latric liters of medical oxygen per minute.
