PUDUCHERRY: The CBI has arrested two employees of the State Insurance Company (ESIC) on charges of demanding and accepting bribes of RS 25,000 from the company’s executive to remove the company’s bank accounts.
The arrested officer has been identified as a Mohit Jha Social Security officer and Deputy Director of Paras Gregory Khalkho, both posted in Esic, Puducherry.
Esic issued a recovery notice to the company, after the company failed to complete contributions on the 8.51 lakh rs song along with interest since January 2020.
JHA and Khalkho contacted the bank where the company had an account and directed the bank authority to freeze the company’s account.
A company executive approached Jha with a request to withdraw the company’s bank account.
Jha demands a bribe of Rs 25,000 for him and for Khalkho to withdraw the account.
The company executives warn CBI.
The investigation body put the trap and arrested the defendant with a red hand while demanding and accepting bribes.
