Nagpur: A woman in the Nagpur district called her marriage by calling the police at the eleventh hour and told them that she did not like men with whom she would tie the knot.
The marriage will take place at 12 noon at a resort near Ramtek on Tuesday, a police officer said.
But moments before ‘Muhatat’, the woman made a phone call to the police control room and said she did not want to marry the groom when she fell in love with other people.
The bride’s relatives are angry, leading to heated exchanges.
Inspector Pramod Makeshwar and his colleagues rushed to the place and took members of the two families to the Ramtek police station.
The restless relatives of the groom were then calm and the marriage was called.
The woman seemed told her mother a week ago that she didn’t want to marry the man they chose for her, said an official.
