Bridges, flyovers to be taken up at Noida meet today

Noida: The Noida Authority will on Friday hold its first board meeting in two months, during which the second wave of the pandemic raged across the district.
A budget of Rs 4,000 crore for the current fiscal year will be presented for approval at the meeting.
Key infrastructure projects, such as the elevated roads in Chilla and Bhangel and the signature bridge at the Parthala roundabout, are likely to be discussed.
The New Noida project, whose master plan for the next 20 years is being designed by the School of Planning and Architecture, is also expected to be taken up for discussions.
“The board meeting was earlier scheduled in the second week of April.
But the second wave of Covid caused the delay.
Now that the situation has improved in the district, the Authority board has decided to hold its meeting on June 25,” an official said.
There are speculation about industry and property rates being hiked, apart from the implementation of the data centre policy.
Stalled and delayed projects will also be discussed at the meeting, officials said.
While a substantial part of the approved budget will be allocated for the big-ticket projects, there would also be allocations for basic civic infrastructure such as roads, street lights, sewage etc in residential sectors and villages.
A part of budget is likely to be set aside for the development of new sectors along the Noida expressway.
Sources said the Authority might also bring in a one-time plan for those who have defaulted on payments, keeping in mind the effect lockdown has had on the income of people.
