Brigadier Lakhbinder Singh Lidder, assigned in 2 JAK RIF in December 1990, was a defense assistant for the Bipin Gen of Rawat, Defense Chief of Staff.
An alumni of the National Defense Academy, Brig Lidder also served in Bureau & Kashmir, the East Sector and the Directorate of Military Operations.
The family source said that Brig Lidder was cleared for the next promotion to the rank of the main general.
He was awarded the Sena Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal (2020).
The Lidder family shifted to Panchkula in 1989 from Punjab and owned a house in the city.
One of his neighbors remembered as a man and said Brig Lidder had visited his house in Panchkula in July this year.
Brig Lidder survived his wife Geetika Lidder and Putri Ashana, who lived in Delhi.
His mortal remains were being sent there for the last rite.
Father the late Brig Lidder, Mehanga Singh, is a colonel in the Indian Army.
His brother lives abroad while his sister serves in a leading hostel school in Himachal Pradesh.
