New Delhi: British Airways (BA) has from Monday (August 16) doubling weekly flights in India from 10 to 20 with the United Kingdom to move the country to the list of amber followed by India which allows more flights between the two flights between the two countries.
India has now permitted its operator (Air India and Vistara) collectively operating 34 flights every week – and as much as possible to the British aircraft carrier (BA and Virgin Atlantic).
From previously allowed 30 weekly, India-English can now have 68 weekly nonstop.
BA said it will now operate 20 flights back directly in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Air India, which has nonstops to London from several Indian cities, add flights to England.
Vistara has doubled Delhi-London twice the fourth week now.
Moran Birger, Head of BA’s sales for South Asia, the Middle East and Africa, said: “Very beautiful to see the relationship between India and London restored after months of uncertainty caused by global pandemics.
This additional new flight will allow our Indian customers, which has waited patiently, to reunite with the people they love.
The flight also provides new travel options for Indian students who want to travel to England and beyond for further study, towards the beginning of the new academic year.
