LONDON: British Secretary of England Liz Truss is on his day two days to India where he will meet the Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar and Minister of Environment Bhupender Yadav, announce British investment in green technology infrastructure and clean energy transitions in India to improve work and move green Growth and “express their expectations that they will be committed to a more ambitious nationally determined contribution”.
On Friday truss will meet Yadav in Delhi to discuss the climate target just a few days before the COP26 summit starts at Glasgow.
“He will underline the importance of making concrete progress about climate change and will note that India has led the world in renewable technology and expressed his hopes that they will be committed to a more ambitious country-determined contribution,” Foreign Office, Perseman said Talk FCDO).
Truss will announce British investment £ 11.5 million (RS 119 Crore) in two venture capital funds aimed at supporting the Indian transition to cleaning energy, an investment of £ 50.4 million (RS 521 Crore) by the Investment Arm of FCDO, CDC, to fund technology Green infrastructure projects throughout India, and an investment of £ 500,000 (Rs 5.2 Crore) to build virtual UK networks and Indian laboratories that work to promote nallular zero targets in the industry including glass, cement, and metals.
“I want English and India to improve their partnerships in critical fields such as technology, investment, security and defense,” Truss said.

On Saturday Truss will be in Mumbai where he will visit the British carrier strike group on the most substantial port visit to date and talk to Indian business leaders at the round table “Return to Better World”.
