LONDON: More than three quarters of adults in the UK have now received both doses of Covid-19 vaccine, the latest British government numbers revealed on Tuesday.
A total of 86,780,455 doses have been given in the UK, with 47,091,889 people received the first dose (89%) and 39,688,566 people who received a dose (75%).
The latest data from Health Public England (PHE) and Cambridge University also found that around 60,000 deaths, 22 million infections and 66,900 inpatients had been prevented by vaccines.
“The launch of our extraordinary vaccine has now provided vital protection against the virus to the three quarters of British adults.
This is a very large national achievement, which we must all be proud of,” Prime Minister Boris Johnson said.
“It is very important for those who have not been vaccinated forward as quickly as possible to order their Jab – to protect themselves, protect the people they love and let us all to enjoy our freedom safely,” he said.
Data PHE continues to show that the Covid-19 vaccine given in the UK is “very effective” against the variant of Delta (B.1.617.2) from Covid-19 first identified in India.
The analysis shows the Pfizer / Biontech vaccine is 96% effective and the Oxford / Astrazeneca vaccine, which is produced in India as a covishield, is 92% effective against inpatient after two doses.
“Three of the four adults in England now have a vaccine dose, extraordinary and fantastic work evidence of NHS, volunteers and everyone involved in the launch,” said UK Health Secretary Sajid Javid.
“Getting two doses of Covid-19 vaccine is the key to enjoying a number of new freedoms safely – whether it is to enjoy a trip abroad with family or night with friends – because we continue to build our protection wall.
The vaccine allows us to be re-connected with things -Hal that we like, but more than that, they protect the people we love too, “he said.
Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) said it would work with national health services.
(NHS) To make it as easy as possible to get a vaccine, including through the “Take” vaccine site throughout the country including at nightclubs, soccer stadiums and festivals.
People can make an appointment with a national order system as well as online or by calling 119, and can use the vaccination center, running center, or one of the current pop-up vaccination centers in shopping centers, workplaces and high streets.
“Today marks a historic day for an extraordinary vaccination program, with three British quarters of adults having received a dose of Covid-19 vaccine that saves the lives,” said Minister of Vaksin UK Nadhim Zahawi.
“It was phenomenal looking with the first hand of the British public enthusiasm for the vaccine, which has now prevented more than 66,900 inpatient and saved at least 60,000 lives,” he said.
All adults in England can get their second dose after that.
Eight weeks, which means that every adult has the opportunity to have two doses in mid-September.
People will be asked to prove that they have two Jabs to enter the nightclub and other places where the large crowd gathered at the end of September.
Of the August 16, people who doubled doubt would no longer be asked to isolate themselves if they were identified as close contact from the positive Covid-19 case.
People will continue to be advised to take PCR tests to detect viruses and variants that become a concern and variant of anyone who test positive will still be required by law to isolate themselves, regardless of their vaccination status.
