LONDON: British police on Tuesday announced that they had confiscated a record of £ 180 million ($ 250 million, 210 million euros) Cryptocurrency which was thought to have been used in criminal companies.
The biggest haul in the country was made as part of a sustainable investigation into international money laundering and used intelligence received about the transfer of criminal assets, according to the police.
They also believed it was related to the record of previous record criminal criticism, made last month.
“Less than a month ago we managed to confiscate £ 114 million in Cryptocurrency,” explained the Constable Metropolitan Police Joe Ryan in a statement.
“Our investigation has since been complicated and wide.
We have worked hard to track this money and identify crime that might be attributed to him.” A 39-year-old woman was arrested on June 24 for suspected of violations of money after last month’s seizure, before being released with a guarantee.
The same woman was interviewed under prudence in connection with £ 180 million seized on July 10.
“While cash still remains a criminal word, because the digital platform develops us increasingly see organized criminals using their dirty money,” said Deputy Assistant Commissioner Graham McNulty.
“While a few years ago this was a fairly mapped area, we now have highly trained officers and specialist units that work hard in this space to remain one step ahead of those who use it for forbidden benefits.”
