LONDON: British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, did not need to isolate himself even though his staff members were on a recent trip to Scotland tested positive for Coronavirus, his street office said.
Johnson visited a police college in Fife on Wednesday and a wind farm from Aberdeenshire on Thursday.
Local media reported Johnson staff members who accompanied him to police college and traveled with him on a positive tested plane for Coronavirus.
“Prime ministers regularly visit communities throughout the UK and all aspects of the visit are carried out in line with Covid guidance,” Street Downing spokesman said.
“Prime Minister has not been closely related to anyone who has tested positive.” Last month Minister Johnson and finance, Rishi Sunak, both were isolated themselves according to national guidance, leaving plans that were very criticized to take part in the pilot scheme that would allow them to continue working.
“It’s clear that the prime minister hasn’t learned anything from what happened the last time he tried to cook reasons to be above the rules that other people had to follow,” said Anneliese Dodds, chairman of the Opposition Labor Party.
“Senior conservatives really take the public for fools.
This is another example of one rule for them and the other for others.”
