British spy head warns of Taliban takeover can trigger a terror plot

LONDON: Taliban takeover in Afghanistan has “heart and brave” extremist and can lead to the return of a large “al-Qaida style” attack in the West, the Head of the British Domestic Intelligence Agency on Friday.
Director General of MI5 Ken McCallum said England could face “more risks” because of the withdrawal of NATO forces and the overthrow of the Afghan government supported internationally.
“Terrorist threats tend not to change overnight in the sense of plot or training camp or infrastructure – things enjoyed by Al Qaeda in Afghanistan at 9/11,” McCallum told the BBC in a rare interview.
“But what happened overnight, even though the directed plots and bits of terrorism are organized centrally take a little longer to rebuild …
last night, you can have a psychological impulse, moral boost that is already here, or in another country Of course.
” So we need to be aware of the inspired increase in inspired terrorism that has become a real trend for us to deal with for the past five to 10 years, along with the potential regrowth of the plot directed at Al-Qaeda.
“England had seen several attacks of violence by extremists inspired by Islam in the last two decades.
The most deadly was on July 7, 2005, when four suicide bombers killed 52 commuters on the London and bus subrance.
More recently knife and vehicle attacks have made individual works.
Inspired by militants such as the group of Islamic countries, but not directed by them.
McCallum said the British authorities had disturbed 31 plots of attacks in the past four years, by the extremist of Islam and far right.
He said it was difficult For SA whether British is safer or less safe, 20 years after September 11 attacks in the United States.
“The number of plots we bothered now is actually higher than the number of plots that come to us after 9/11, but the average they are plot which is smaller than the bottom sophistication, “he said.
