The Silver Medal of the Britain Olympic Relay 4x100m Britain Chijindu has been suspended temporarily for allegedly violating the anti-doping rules in the Tokyo match, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) said on Thursday.
Three another athletes and fields were suspended during the match – Bahrain born in Morocco, Sadik Mikhou, Georgia photo shoot, Abramyan Benik and Kenya Mark Otieno Odhiambo sprinter – also registered.
AIU said in a statement it was notified by the Doping control laboratory in Tokyo after the match that Ujah returned aF analytical findings (AAF) from the test conducted during the Olympics.
This includes the prohibited substances detected as Ostarine and S-23, both of which are classified by the World Wada anti-doping organization as a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) with an effective similar to anabolic steroids.
Friends of the relay team is Zharnel Hughes, Richard Kilty and Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake who medually will also be risky if positive is confirmed.
AIU said it had worked closely with the international testing body during the match and gave intelligence to carry out specific target tests in two of four athletes, without determining which one.
“Aiu is now waiting for the conclusion of the process of ita to the athletes above, which will determine whether there is an anti-doping rule violation has committed and what consequences (if any) must be worn in connection with the Olympics,” he added.
This added that it had been told about other AAF for Odhampo in the sample collected in South Africa on June 24, before the match began.
The Kenyan Anti-Doping Agency (Kenya) has submitted the responsibility of the case management to AIU.
Odhiambo, a 100m runner, suspended before the heat who qualifies in Tokyo.
Mikhou was suspended for accepting blood transfusions during the match.
Abramyan failed in marijuana testing out of the competition for steroids in Tokyo.
