Broken Cricket Betting Racket in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Special Operations Team (SOT) Rachakonda damaged the racket of a cricket bet and arrested a dealer operating from Saroornagar.
Police took cash at Rs 15.7 lakh from the defendant and wrote to the bank to freeze various bank accounts that were associated with it which contained the number of Rs 69.6 lakh in it.
Acting on specific information, SOT Detective LB Nagar raided a house in the colony of Thapovan in Saroornagar and arrested Shaik Sadiq, from the Nagarketool district to bet in the Australian vs Bangladesh T-20 match and match in India on Wednesday night.
The police took cash 15.7 lakh, four cellphones, cars and eight credit cards from their ownership.
The police also identified nine bank accounts related to Sadiq and wrote to the bank to freeze it.
“There is a 69.6 lakh rs balance in a bank account,” said Commissioner Rachakonda Mahesh Bhagwat.
Sadiq is a native population of Achampet City in the Nagarurnai District.
About five years ago, he began arranging online cricket betting while living in a different place in Hyderabad.
Sadiq told police that gamblers operating from other countries have developed the application and website of the Kriket betting and to get an account to place bets, he must pay Rs 10,000 as initial payments that apply for a month and then provide commissions on the main income.

“Every time the Kriket league or tournament occurs, Sadiq contacts passengers through social media applications and then sends it links to bets.
All passengers must place the Minimum RS 1000 bet through Sadiq in various categories such as ADM, ball by ball, match winner.
At the end of the match, Sadiq requires 30 percent of commissions and transfers the remaining amounts to the winner, “said Inspector Sot T ​​Ravi Kumar.
