Letter: The cheating case was registered against the diamond broker at the Katargam police station on Thursday because it was alleged to deceive the leading diamond manufacturing unit of Rs 22.46 lakh.
Dhanik Shah, diamond broker, allegedly replacing two original diamonds, each weighed around a rust, with a diamond deposition of chemical chemical steam (CVD).
For six months no one knows about fraud, until the buyer from Belgium returns one diamond lab that grows into the city unit, Laxmi Diamond Pvt.
Ltd.Bhumik Gajera, Director of the Diamond Unit, filed a complaint complaint ordered by Shah under the Indian Criminal Code, part 420 (cheating).
Shah has replaced diamonds in June 2021 when he came to examine the precious stones in the unit in the Katargam region in the city.
In his complaint, Gajera accused Shah, a resident of the Umra area, saw several Diamonds online and called the unit.
Expressing his desire to physically check the precious stones.
On June 6, 2021, Shah visited the unit and after checking the diamond returned it to the staff on duty.
Then one of the stones is sold to buyers in Belgium which returns it because it is from CVD varieties and not natural.
“When the officials we were told that it was a diamond lab that we had been shocked.
We only polished natural diamonds and did not produce them.
We checked our records and it was revealed that the diamond was examined by Shah,” said Vasant Gajera, the owner of the diamond unit.
The unit then approached the police and after the preliminary investigation of the complaint was submitted.
“The defendant lived in Mumbai,” said a police officer.
