Guwahati: singer and musicians, who look forward to the bohag bihu show every year, are now not sure of getting a show with a comfortable budget at the coming spring festival after the state of the state government to prevent “forced donations” recently announced the hospital.
1.5 lakh to the Bohag Provider Committee, which has organized the festival in the first week of bohag for the past 10 years.
This is an effort to prevent donations.
The Committee Secretary of Guwahati, provided anonymously, “the decision to stop forced donations is a friendly step; but it raises the question of how a committee will bear the burden.
The average singer takes around Rs 3 to Rs 4 Lakh for a show.
We must Pay a group or other individual for their show too.
Besides that, there is no guarantee of deliberate contribution.
This has pushed the Bihu Committee to become a dilemma.
“The popular singer and heartthrob Zubeen Garg has announced his decision not to appear during the Bohag celebration anywhere this time.
“I have a big team.
I have some expenses.
It’s impossible to hold the show with a low budget,” he added.
Popular singer Gayatri Hazarika said there was no point in paying a high budget for singer’s starry.
“The Committee pays in several lakhs to certain singers and does not want to pay even rs 20,000 to others.
This is unfair.
There must be a minimum budget and maximum standard budget for artists.
It will be better,” he added.
Kailash Sarma Guwahati Sanmilani said, “It is better to bring four artists instead of spending all the money on one singer.
This will help more families to survive now at Covid-19, not just one family.” Minister of Himanta’s minister could Sarma said, “We should not go for forced donations.
That does not mean the committee will not accept intentional contributions.” He added that the decision was taken to provide assistance to employers because they were still struggling to revive their business after being beaten by a pandemic.
