Lucknow: A man was arrested for killing a brother of an IAS official for disputes related to money in Pratapgarh on Monday.
The person arrested was identified as the Hridaylal area of the Maheshganj police station.
The police also recovered the alleged stick had attacked Ashwani Shukla, 48.
Police supervisors, Pratapgarh, Satpal, told Ti that the victim’s victim Rakesh Shukla was an IAS officer and is currently posted as director, social welfare in Lucknow.
Describing the sequence of events, the Satpal further said that Ashwani lent a sum of money to the villagers of Hrayatlal.
“On Monday morning, the victim knew that Hridaylal had sold a piece of land recently, so to take back the money, he visited the defendant in the morning,” SP said.
During a conversation, the spat occurred between them.
In anger, Hridaylal took a stick stored at home and attacked Ashwani.
He hit several punches in Ashwani’s head.
Following the impact, the victim of bleeding that has fallen on the ground.
Local residents then told the police who took him to the hospital at Rae Bareli where he was referred to Lucknow.
However, he died during treatment.
Rakesh Shukla has submitted a representative of murder efforts which will now be converted into a murder case.
