Lucknow: Sibghatullah Ansari, former Bahujan Party and MLA and Mukhtar Ansari’s Mukhtar Legislative brothers and legislators, joined the Samajwadi Party (SP) on Saturday.
The founding member of SP Ambika Chaudhary, who was expelled from a party in 2017 to side with Shivpal Yadav during the upheaval in the Yadav clan, also returned to SP folds with his supporters.
Chaudhary has joined BSP in 2017.
Sibghatullah joined SP is a rather ‘limited’ affair that occurs before SP workers in the auditorium where party leadership usually holds an internal meeting.
Amibika Chaudhary joins the party in front of the media in the auditorium where SP head regularly interacts with the media.
SP National President Akhilesh Yadav led the two events.
Speaking with Toi, Sibghatullah confirmed it to join SP.
Asked about what pushed him to quit all bonds with BSP and shake hands with SP, Sibghatullah said he would immediately talk about it.
Sabgatullah’s Afzal Brothers Ansari and Mukhtar Ansari each sit BSP MP and MLA.
In 2017, as President of SP, Akhilesh Yadav, has opposed the incorporation of Kuami Ansari Brother Ekta Dal with the party.
Akhilesh continued to fire the cabinet minister then Balram Yadav to regulate the merger.
Finally the Mukhtar party was locked in the Bandwagon Party Bahujan Jamaj accused the powerful SP of the backstabbing.
On the other hand, the strong OBC leader from Ballia – Ambika Chaudhary – also joined SP in front of Akhilesh Yadav.
Founder member SP and close Associate Mulayam Singh Yadav, Chaudhary was expelled from a party in 2017 for anti-party activities.
There was a suspicion that he was close to Shivpal, who he had parted with Akhilesh after the last one took over as the President’s party replaced Mulayam Singh Yadav.
His son Anand Chaudhary opposed the polls of the chairman of the Panchayat from Ballia supported by the Jamajwadi Party (SP).
