Bareilly: The police have arrested a man and sister from here for allegedly deceiving a company in Maharashtra more than Rs 1.27 Crore on the promise to complete the data entry work for it, an official said on Thursday.
Anil Kumar Gangwar and his sister Preeta Gangwar, residents of the Padri Khalsa in the Bhojipura area here, run fake companies in Maharashtra and deceive other companies in that condition, said Senior Senior Supervisor (SSP) Rohit Singh Sajwan.
A pine was registered with them at the Mahaikar Police Station in the Buldhana Maharashtra district, he said.
Both were arrested from their homes in the morning and a number of debit cards and credit restored from their ownership, said SSP.
The case is also registered with the Duo in Telengana for allegedly deceiving people, Sajwan said.
Maharashtra police have taken the two defendants with them.
