MALDA: Six individuals are detained and 602 gm of brown sugar seized in their ownership from West Bengal’s Malda district, authorities said on Saturday.
Acting a tip-off, authorities raided a home in Baluachara at Kaliachak police station spot on Friday night and detained both accused after grabbing the contraband value Rs 10 lakh from their possession.
Additionally, Rs 1.44 lakh in cash, a purse and a cellular phone were seized in the home, a police officer said.
The accused have been booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) Act.
