Gurdaspur: The border security force (BSF) on Friday morning foiled the offer of the main cross-border smuggling and won heroin 47kg near Indo-sir’s international border in the Gurdaspur sector after the shootout between Jawan and smugglers of Pakistan.
One BSF Jawan was injured at the meeting.
Prabhakar Joshi, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), BSF, the Gurdaspur sector, informed that around 5.10 in a BSF patrol party on Friday near the Post-Border Chandu Wadala watched the suspicious movement near the border and challenging smugglers.
When they didn’t stop, BSF jawan opened fire.
Joshi said that the smugglers also returned the fire from across the border leaving BSF Jawan Gian Singh Yadav injured.
He rushed to Nanak Dev’s teacher hospital in Amritsar.
Then, BSF seized 47kg heroin, 7 Opium packages, 1 Norinoco pistol with 2 magazines, 44 rounds of caliber, 4 magazines 47, 74 rounds, 9mm pietro beretta pistol.

The sources informed that it was very rare for Pakistani smugglers to shoot BSF which was also from the other side of the border.
BSF has not ruled out the possibility of the involvement of Pakistan Rangers in smuggling operations.
