Kolkata: The southern bengal border of the border security force (BSF) on Friday night captured 2.5 kg gold and arrested someone – ajalan there (27 years) when he tried to sneak metal illegally to the country through the Bangladesh border.
The confiscated gold has a market value of Rs 1.27 Crore.
According to sources, BSF Jawan on Friday saw a suspicious motorbike driven by a teenager who came from the side of the Amudia village.
He went to the Balti Bazar area.
When Jawan wanted to stop the motorcycle and looked, the young man suddenly tried to escape.
Jawan caught him and found 24 gold biscuits hidden on a motorcycle.
During the interrogation there said that Bangladeshitarian citizens met him and submitted the consignment to the Balti Bazar region.
Gold biscuits and smugglers were handed over to customs.
