Guwahati: The border security force (BSF) on Friday thwarted drug smuggling efforts and confiscated 25 kg of marijuana, which was smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
The 75th Battalion BSF was stated at the Satbhandari Outpost Border (BOP) under Frontier Guwahati thwart smuggling efforts during special operations carried out by his troops on early Friday based on input.
“Security personnel thwarted the efforts of drugs and seized 25 kg of marijuana, which was smuggled from India to Bangladesh on August 6,” BSF said.
Maintaining the operation momentum on drug and narcotics trade, BSF also confiscated 13 kg of marijuana on Thursday from the Indian-Bangladesh border, while the narcotics were smuggled to Bangladesh.
The porous border between India and Bangladesh is susceptible to smuggling and trans-border crimes, and therefore, BSF officials say that they have instructed all their patrol troops and Bops to be alert during this time because many criminals will take the opportunity to smuggle together the periphery.
