Bokaro: Outstation candidate, who came to attend the last interview at Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL) for Post Petus-Cum-Technician Trainee, was not permitted to enter the place by local youth who were displaced who protested here on Thursday.
Agitators vibrate with BSL security guards when they tried to stop them in the Sail Refractory headquarters unit, where the interview should be held.
Agitators under the banner of refugee internship associations (VAS) held a demonstration against BSL management demanding work and compensation for land given to companies by their ancestors.
Head of Communication, BSL, Manikant Dhan said, “Seeing agitation of displaced people, the interview was then canceled by management.” Most candidates come from Rajasthan and other countries after they are selected in written examinations.
Until the time of the report, hundreds of people moved sat at the main SRU gate and in front of the center of Ispat Bhawan and HRD BSL.
BSL management has requested assistance from the district government to normalize the situation.
The Amjad Hussain of Vas said, “We have completed factory training (apprentice).
Over the past few years, we demanded work from BSL management who had given us training after ensuring US jobs.
But despite repeated requests, we are not provided.
This forces us To do a stage demonstration.
BSL management must provide work first to be displaced because we have given everything to the establishment of steel mills.
“The city of DSP Kuldeep Kumar tried to calm the agitators, but it didn’t work.
Transfer states that their agitation will continue until BSL management gives them a written guarantee of work.
Anticipating protests, BSL management has transferred an overnight check center to SRU which is located about 3 km from the center of HRD.
But the displaced reaches SRU in the morning.
More than 100 people were selected in written tests and were called for interviews from October 21 to 23 for 49 jobs.
