Ghaziabad: Bahujan Officials Samil Hajj (BSP) Akil and 30 of his colleagues were booked on Monday for holding a roadshow in Loni to find votes ahead of the upcoming polls of the upcoming state assemblies who violated the Covid Protocol and CRPC part 144 (training order), Police said.
A Video Roadshow shows that around 50 people have participated in the event, added the police.
The Election Commission, which on Saturday announced the date for the next assembly election in five countries, has said that no demonstration and political roadshows will be permitted until January 15 after the Covid surge.
SP (rural) IRAJ Raja told Toi that the police had submitted FIR at the Loni Police Station against Akil and his colleagues under the friendly section.
However, Virendra Jatav, President of the Ghaziabad BSP unit said they did not realize such a roadshow.
“We have asked all party workers to comply with the law.
Candidates have not been decided for constituencies in the Ghaziabad district, so far,” he added.
The district will go to the poll on February 10.
