Coimbatore: Universitas Bharathiar has changed its rules to increase the upper limit of research supervisors for two years to register PhD graduates in affiliated colleges.
The decision arose after the State Government Increased the Pension Age of state government staff from 58 to 60.
Research Supervisors were not allowed to register PhD scholars with the remnants of their retirement.
Previously, the upper ages to register fresh candidates for PhDs were set as 57 for research supervisors in affiliated colleges, because they retired at the age of 58.

In the case of faculty and scientists whose retirement age is not determined, the upper age limit for registering fresh candidates under their supervision has been set as 64 years.
Patches to Toi, Chancellor of Chancellor Universitas Bharathiar P said that the increase in the age of retirement supervisor by the state government requires an increase in their age limit to register a fresh PhD candidate.
“There was confusion because retirement was revised twice in the past two years.
To improve the age at which research supervisors can register PhD candidates, we bring amendments,” he said.
The teachers who are dangerous after retirement can continue as a joint guide to examine the students concerned.

Then they can act as a supervisor along with the approval of the research committee and the supervisor of the new research.

The upper ages for the research supervisor to register fresh candidates to pursue PhD programs under their supervision are designated as 61/64 years in connection with teachers or scientists who work in academic research institutions recognized where retirement age is 62/65 years.
