New Delhi: The Ministry of Housecame Uni informed the wife of Ailing Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee about the government’s decision to give him Padma Bhushan before announcing his name and no one from his family who objected to him, the official source said Tuesday night, after the former Chairman of Western Minister Bengal refused the award.
As soon as the CPM veteran leader announced that he had rejected the government’s mode decision to give him the third highest civilian award in the country, the official source said that the top official of the Ministry of the house called Bhattacharjee’s house on Tuesday morning.
The former wife of the minister’s chairman took the phone because he was not healthy and he made the central government’s decision to name it as one of the recipients of Padma this year.
Bhattacharjee’s wife told the top officials that she would tell him about it.
No one from the Bhattacharjee family returned to the ministry of home about his reluctance to receive Padma’s award.

If anyone expressed objections, he was not named, the source said.
Because no one from Bhattacharjee’s household returned to the ministry of the house all day, his name was announced late at night as one of the recipients of Padma, they said.
In a statement, the former minister said, “I don’t know anything about this award.
Nobody told me about it.
If they have decided to offer Padma Bhushan to me, I refuse to accept it.”
