Buddhist ideas are more relevant now because humans face the Covid-19 crisis: PM Narendra Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that the ideas of Lord Buddha are now more relevant now because humanity faces the Covid-19 crisis and confirms that India has shown how to deal with the most difficult challenges by following the founders shown by the founders of the Buddhism.
In his message at Ashadha Purnima and the Dhamma Chakra Day program, which marked the day when the Buddha gave his first sermon after reaching enlightenment, he said the world had felt the power of the teachings of the Buddha Lord at the time of the tragedy.
“The whole world is moving in solidarity after Buddhism.
In this case, the initiative ‘treatment with prayer’ from the International Buddhist Confederation should be praised,” Prime Minister said.
Quoting ‘Dhamming Padang’, PM Modi said hostility did not extinguish hostility but was rather won with a great love and heart.
“At the time of the tragedy, the world has felt the power of love and harmony.
Like this Buddhist knowledge, this humanitarian experience is enriched, the world will touch the new height of success and prosperity,” he added.
Quoting Buddhism, the Prime Minister said, “Harmony between thoughts, speech, and determination and between actions and efforts we can guide us from pain and towards happiness.” “It inspires us to work for general welfare during the wonderful times and give us the power to deal with difficult times.
The Buddha God gives us one eight-fold path to achieve this harmony,” he said.
When Lord Buddha, forged in fire sacrifice and resilience, speaking, then this is not the words even but the entire ‘Dhamm’ cycle begins and the knowledge flowing from it becomes synonymous with the welfare of the world, the prime minister said.
That is why today he has followers throughout the world, he added.
