Thane: The day after the collapse of the slab in a building in Rabodi in Thane killing two people, BJP and Congress on Monday demanded that officials and civilian builders connect with the ordered structure for murder.
Chairman of the BJP and MLC Niranjan Davkhare said district officials and builders must be blamed because it is their responsibility to ensure people are transferred from dilapidated and dangerous buildings to transit camps.
The head of the City Congress, Vikrant Chavan, revealed a similar view, both of them agreed that the police had to register a guilty murder case who did not amount to the murder in the incident.
Thane Municipal Corporation, in the release issued on Sunday night, said the building was declared dangerous and dilapidated after the audit in 2013 but residents refused to move even though there were some notifications.
The release of Civic has claimed the local police, the Department of Water Supply and the power distribution company was asked to disconnect from their own destinations but no one came out of this step too.
A police official said the case of an accidental death had been registered and the probe into the chain of events that caused the collapse and death of the slab and examine the ongoing structural documents.
