Guwahati: A two-year-old girl died in her mother’s arms when the Assam Forest Department personnel fired rubber bullets to expel herd of elephants in Boko in Assam Regency (rustic), on Friday.
The police said the child was hit on his neck.
However, there was no official confirmation whether he was shocked by one of the rubber bullets.
“We have to wait for postmortem reports,” police said.
They said that there was a wild elephant herd in the fields for the past two days.
The herd is still in the fields when submitting this report.
