Mathura: Four men who were transmitted by motorbikes grabbed a bag containing more than Rs 1 Crore from a gold trader in Mathura district on Monday, police said.
The incident occurred in the Bahadur Chauki Bag area which fell below the Kotwali police station.
“The leaka grabbed a bag containing Rs 1 Crore (and) 5 lakh from the trader while he would deposit the number at the Indian state bank at around 10:30 a.m.,” said Senior Gaurav Grover Supervisor to the media.
The SWAT team, the supervision team, and the SOG team had been pressured into the action to compile the robbery, the officer said.
Police scan through CCTV footage to find details about robbers.
The robbers with bicycles hit the victims riding their scooters with bags full of money, police said.
When the victim fell, they grabbed his bag and fled.
Traders have taken an alternative route to the bank because there is congestion in the Chauki Bahadur Crossing bag, he told the police.
