Ouagadougou: The Government of Burkina Faso denied that the army had controlled the country on Sunday after a shot exchanging occurred in several military barracks, including two in the capital.
“Information about social media will make people believe there is a military takeover,” said the alkassoum government spokesman Maiga in a statement.
“The government, while recognizing the shooting validity in several barracks, deny this information and call for a population to remain calm.” The shot came after a day after a clash between the police and demonstrators during the forbidden protest against the failure of the authorities to stem the violence of jihadists who destroyed the West African country.
