When Bengalureans goes on time for a long weekend celebration, the bus rates have risen, even three times in some cases, floating around Rs 2,000
The celebration season has begun in the state with Ganesh Chaturthi this Friday.
It also marks the beginning of a long weekend and many of the cities prefer to go to their home city for celebration or vacation.
With increasing demand, the bus ticket price has become more dear – so much so that in some cases, the price is almost three times.
For example, a ticket on the Bengaluru-Hyderabad bus in a luxury class worth around Rs 1,000 plus during a normal working day and has now reached Rs 2,000.
Strangely, bus tickets to Hubballi will cost around Rs 500-Rs 700 on a normal day and prices now skyrocket to Rs 2,400 on several buses.
Sanjay Deshpande, a Techie, who plans to go to Hometown Hubballi, said, “It is a habit for us to travel to my city for my home during the festival.
This year, it turned out to be disgusted because I had to issue Rs 9,600 for four tickets.
Even Tickets back to Sunday night are quite expensive.
“James Matthew, who planned to go to Goa, said, tickets were hard to come by and it seemed that the price was too high.
“Because there are limited buses, travelers are left without choice but pay dearly,” he said.

This is the only time when we got a big request for bus tickets and prices up due to increasing demand,” he explained.
