But there has been no decision in the Covid-19 vaccine for healthy children: British minister

LONDON: British Vaccine Minister Nadhim Zahawi on Sunday said the decision had not been taken whether healthy children aged 12 to 15 years had to be vaccinated against Covid-19, following the report that the launch could begin in the coming days.
The United Kingdom Committee on vaccination and immunization (JCVI) on Friday refused to recommend vaccination for children in the group, taking a preventive approach due to the risk of rare heart inflammation, but added this problem balanced.
The government consulted with medical advisors to seek advice on broader consideration, such as the impact on schools, and may still provide a vast vaccination of age groups.
Some newspapers reported trust among the ministers that the head of the medical officer would quickly return shots for children aged 12 to 15 healthy years, but Zahawi said the government would not carry out decisions.
“There is no decision to be made until we heard back from the head of a medical officer,” Zahawi told the BBC.
Children have been vaccinated a lot in the United States, Israel and many European countries.
British officials have emphasized that children aged 12 to 15 are susceptible to Covid-19 have qualified for vaccination, as well as everyone of more than 16.
The four British countries, who have recorded the death of 133,000 covids, control their own health policies, even though all have been Follow JCVI’s advice about the launch vaccine so far.
Zahawi confirmed that the proof of vaccination would be needed in the UK for several major events from the end of this month after all the adults were offered two shots.
He also said that the government still completed a plan for the vaccine amplifier program after interim suggestions from JCVI which might be needed for vulnerable and elderly.
“It is very possible that we will begin to improve the groups, as …
I hope the interim then becomes final advice, in the middle of this month,” he said.
