JAMSHEDPUR: The steel city on Monday celebrates Janmashtami with a great enthusiasm with worshipers, although fewer is due to the ongoing pandemic, visiting the nearest temple to offer special prayers to Lord Krishna, worshiped as the eighth incarnation of Lord Wisnu.
Following the Covid protocol strictly, the Candi Committee allows the entry of restricted worshipers so that social distance norms are followed effectively.
Decorated with flowers and lights, Krishna’s temple celebrates the day with many rituals.
Morning starting with special prayers and Mangal Aarti accompanied by drum ticking, blowing clarinet and cours shell in temples.
In the afternoon, various delicious food cooked specifically offered to keethes.
Some temples even arrange the Bhajan program.
“We arranged the Janmashtami program without deviating from the Covid-19 protocol,” said D D Tripathy, President of the Temple of Radhanagar Krishna, Telco.
The convention of the Sidhgora Surya Mandir Temple Committee, Chandragupt Singh, said unlike the previous years the large-scale cultural program was not organized in the temple but there was no compromise on the ritual.
Likewise, the Temple Ram Mandiram Committee functionary, J Bhaskar, said Lord Krishna’s birth ritual was followed by obedient but the crowd was suspected of being Covid.
The Temple of Isccon in Golmuri was decorated complicated on that occasion with the Temple Committee observing the festival in accordance with Covid guidelines.
Happy observed the festival at home, Janmashtami’s swelling said at least the open market to buy Praise Essentials was not like last year.
“We love to spend Janmashtami at home.
Fortunately, decorative items are available in stores when the market remains open,” said Priyanka Goyal, housewife, and citizens of the citizens.
Vendors say the business is better this year despite Covid.
“It’s not like pre-covid time but it is definitely better than 2020.
Last year, we have to close our store,” said Madan Sahu vendor.
