BWF should Explore decision on Eligibility for Olympics: Srikanth

NEW DELHI: Star shuttler Kidambi Srikanth, that also missed the possibility of qualifying for upcoming Tokyo Olympics, needs Badminton World Federation (BWF) to check into the issue again and then have a decision about the exact same.
BWF on Friday affirmed that no additional tournaments will be performed within the window and because of this not just Kidambi however Saina Nehwal overly missed the bus to the Tokyo Olympics.

Having represented India at the 2016 Olympics, Kidambi’s aim was to win a trophy in Tokyo 2020.
“I have been there at the 2016 Olympics therefore that it was my fantasy for 2020, my aim was to receive a decoration.
I am very frustrated not being able to be present at the 2020 Olympics now,” he explained.
“However, if BWF can consider creating new rules, then it is going to assist the players that have been on the point of eligibility.
It’s not the ending for me, I’ll continue working hard and that I will attempt to get the finest in future championships,” he added.
Based on BWF, although the eligibility period formally closes June 15, according to the Revised Tokyo 2020 eligibility program, the present Hurry To Tokyo ranks record won’t change.
