BYJU losses widen to RS 250CR at FY20, the income grew 82%

Bengaluru: BYJU reported a loss of Rs 250 Crore for Fiscal 2019-20, up from only Rs 9 Crore in the previous year, according to documents accessed by the Tofler business intelligence platform.
With the basis of consolidation, revenue from operations rose 82% to RS 2,380 crore as more people registered for corporate courses.
Losses widened along with more than doubled to Rs 3,021 Crore from Rs 1,376 Crore.
This pays Rs 420 Crore as an employee benefit cost, which forms around 14% of its aggregate expenditure.
Byju’s, who received some of the biggest examinations of investors this year, utilized most of the advertising.
More than 70% of the company’s income comes from sales of tablets and SD cards, which contain courses.
Reference book sales produce 23% of income.
The rest comes from tuition and service fees.
BYJU’s has more than 65 million customers.
It added around 25 million over the past year, because more people signed up for online classes in covid.
The company has carried out the acquisition of spree in the past year, buying companies such as Woohat Jr, Aakash, Great Learning and Toppr.
