Mumbai: When he peered into his new office room on his inauguration night, Chirag Chauhan could not stop radiant.
His dream of expanding his business has become a reality on the day that has a major impact on his life.
Chauhan, 36, a resident of Kandivli, remembered July 11, 2006 – not as a day that made it a wheelchair but as pushing it to work harder and prove it to the world that there was no challenge if you had faith in you.
Chauhan, then 21, returned home from his workplace while he was destroying the Chartered Accountancy (CA) course, when a series of explosions tore the local train on the western train.
He remembered opening his eyes on a coach who slipped, lying in the middle of the horde of commuters injured in Santacruz and could not feel the sensation below the waist.
The next three months were spent in various hospitals when he tried to make peace with his new reality.
Chauhan suffered a spinal cord injury that left his legs and the lower body was paralyzed.
“I often wonder, during the early months, why should I suffer so much,” he said.
Physiotherapy is very tiring when Chauhan learns to sit upright and manage his body.
The food and sports regime must be done with hours.
“My mother is a constant support pillar throughout.
I also found consolation in spiritual texts,” he said.
Between 2006 and 2009, the Chauhan daily routine consisted of eight hours of physiotherapy and six hours of study.
“My father, who died a few years before the train explosion, has taught us to always look for a silver layer even in the darkest times.
I will always remind yourself that there are people whose struggles are bigger than me.

After cleaning the CA, Chauhan landed a job with MNC.
But the challenge is far from above.
The MNC office was in Chembur and Chauhan had to travel 25 km once on a way to reach his workplace from his house.
After one year with MNC, Chauhan moved to the bank.
In 2012, he opened a small office with several employees.
“I have zero clients when I have moved from corporate work,” Chauhan said.
But he worked very hard and began to add to his client.
During locking, he set up a platform that offers virtual taxation services.
“The portal gets 10,000 hits every day and also has an application,” he said.
On Monday, Chauhan will begin a new journey in a much bigger office room, against all obstacles
