CAA and NRC are not anti-Muslims, said Head of RSS in Assam

Guwahati: The citizenship and NRC amendment laws are not anti-Hindus and anti-Muslims – they have been linked to religion only to get political mileage, Head of RSS Mohan Bhagwat said on Wednesday.
“CAA and NRC have not been framed against Indian citizens.
A citizen who happens to be a Muslim will not be loser because of CAA,” Bhagwat said.
“In the history of post-independence, during the Nehru-Liaquat Pact, there is a guarantee that the minority will be taken care of.
We are still caring for a minority, but Pakistan does.” He argues that every government throughout the world documents the population profile of each country through the exercise “NRC- Like “.
“NRC is about information about citizens living in the country as residents.
We must know the movements of those who have arrived with visas as guests and those who slip out without permission.” He said even though NRC exercises did not oppose the interests of Indians, it was analyzed through political prism.
Bhagwat accused the part of “playing narratives along the communal path” around NRC and CAA.
“They have made NRC-CAA Hindu-Muslim problems.” He returned to the partition to trace the root of the problem of refugees he said was still haunting the country.
