Kolkata: A broken fire in Jaya Cinema in Lake Town at around 9:45 a.m.
on Friday, where the guards of the hall and his wife suffered burns.
Fifteen firefighting machines controlled the flames at midnight.
Officials said the fire broke out on the upper floors of Jaya II, also known as Mini Jaya.
The fire minister Sujit Bose said the guard of his hall and his wife was cooking in their room on the top floor when the fire began.
“The fire seems to start while the woman is cooking.
Both of them suffered burns.
The woman had to be taken to the hospital,” Bose said.
An officer demanded an investigation to find the right reason.
Other officers said the projector room Jaya II was burned and damage had not been assessed.
