Bengaluru: The 22-year-old taxi driver who worked with an application-based aggregator was arrested on charges of abusing a student after he canceled his journey.
The incident took place on November 11.
The defendant, S, Pousvik, a Hennur resident, was produced in front of the local court on Tuesday and returned in the custody of the judiciary.
He has been ordered under the IPC 509 section (Word, movement or law intended to insult a woman’s modesty) and 354D (stalk).
The 19-year-old student had ordered a taxi to return from his educational institution near my referral.
“The taxi driver asked me the details of pickup and destination.
He also asked me how many people traveled.
When I said I would be alone, he used dirty words,” he said in his complaint.
However, Poorvik got rid of the allegations.
“He ordered my taksu and called me asking if I was coming or not.
I replied that I reached out to educational institutions.
He suddenly canceled the trip without a legitimate reason.
I became frustrated and demanded an explanation from him,” he told the police.
Even after students reached the house, Cabbie allegedly harassed him on the phone.
